DIES IRAE

Released in 1993 it is one of the first releases on the new Dynamica label, a sublabel of German label NOISE RECORDS (www.noiserecords.com).

The record is raw and certainly not overproduced. It shows a band looking for the edges of their musical capabilities. This results in very different songs, but in all of them aggression is a main ingredient. The album is intimidating. The vocals are distorted in every song and there are some haunting samples on this one. Like samples from the movie Hellraiser. We all know that one.... Pinhead would like this album.

Coptic Rain proves there is much musical freedom in the metal-industrial crossover genre. Too bad this music is still so obsure. From all bands I know of in this genre, Coptic Rain has taken it further than anyone.
